Frequently asked questions.

How do you find your tradespeople?

We collect trusted referrals from local homeowners, drawing on the expertise of a broad network of home improvers.

Our team reaches out to recommended local contractors who meet our high standards.

Do I have to pay to use Homebird?

No, our tradespeople pay Homebird a commission for each job we connect them with.

How do I pay my Homebirder?

Homebird is supported by Paypal, so you can securely pay your contractor through Homebird by credit or debit card.

If you’d prefer to only pay your deposit via Homebird and pay the rest by bank transfer, that can be arranged with your contractor.

What’s the difference between a ballpark and a full quote?

As a first step our Homebirders provide a very rough cost based on similar projects they’ve done and the details you share - dimensions, level of finish, inspiration photos and more.
This is not a quote but an indication of likely cost to help you understand if this is the right tradesperson or a workable budget for you before confirming that you’d like them to come and quote.

We do this to save our customers and tradespeople time and help match the right projects with the right people.

If you’re happy with the ballpark, the next step is for the tradesperson to visit your home so they can understand in more detail what’s required for the job and provide a full quote.

This is a frequently asked question?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
